THESE BREEDS ARE NOT TO BE CREATED BY ANYONE!
These breeds were created only for the use on my RPG once I have it up and running, and the only way to recieve one before then is if I offer you one. If I see this being done, I WILL TAKE ACTION!

The only dA members who have the rights to create one of these horses is:
~handstands-for-you [with Yariel]
~Artiehorse [with Hijo del Hielo]
Anyone else found with one has done so WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

Oh. And... huge file size. Apologies.

Edit: Yes, I'm aware that there are a few typos and whatnot that I didn't catch until now. But I'm not going to be bothered to fix it, because they're not bad enough that they make understanding the descriptions a problem.




ORIGIN
Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, pursued the lovely goddess Demeter, goddess of vegetation, growth, and life. But Demeter wanted nothing to do with Poseidon, and eluded him. Poseidon tried to please her by giving her gifts, complimenting her beauty, and being as courteous as possible. However, his constant insistence infuriated Demeter, and she refused to be with him. Finally, as an anxious last attempt to win over Demeter, Poseidon created a stunning horse that was filled with life and spirit and joy, created from the very waters he knew so well. This horse craved companionship, and was a loyal steed. But to Demeter, this had crossed the line. Demeter cursed the horse, banishing it to the frozen wasteland of the Camorra Tundra. She transformed him into a lonely, empty soul who despised the company of others, and was forced to carry the burden of a now-cold heart. Demeter, being the goddess of vegetation, considered this horse unworthy of eating her grass, and found him more fit to be carnivorous instead. Thus the Glacequines were born. Because of Demeter's bitterness to Poseidon, Glacequines now roam alone in the freezing snow, unable to leave their “hell on earth”. One can’t help but wonder, however: did Demeter successfully curse them into their dislike for others? Or is this unique creature too strong-willed to be put under such curse… at least for long?



It's really not much, to be honest. Quick, simple, and to the point. Huge thanks to ~handstands-for-you for their many suggestions and opinions along the way, as well as for coming up with the original idea for their origin (tweaked and reworded by myself however) - much, much love to them for that ~:heart: You should totally go visit her, by the way. She has some of the most adorable Shetland Pony characters EVAH (seriously, I'm not kidding with you on that).

So yes. Glacequines. ENVY THEM.

Oh! Beautiful breed! :omg: I love the concept of the Glacequines' social structure, very original indeed :D If harlequines weren't in existance, I'd have to say that this breed would be my favorite. I just like the naturally odd colored horses :XD: That made no sense :lmao:

What an intriguing species, you've done a wonderful job with this detailed sheet! Always good to see! :meow: I especially love their that their colors aren't too off the charts, I love unique breeds, but there are one too many neons these days if you ask me. ^^; Anyone would be lucky to have one!

I created the Glacequines (along with the Spectrums... who still need a breedsheet) to be "native breeds" to my RPG. It's not that I have anything against them being on dA, I just don't want to see hundreds of them, or their crosses, popping up on the HARPG, because that wasn't their intended use :(

The few dA members I've chosen to allow to create Glacequines are ones I feel will be responsible with them, and not try to get past my rules (at least not without requiring permission from me to breed them - and even then, it would be with one of their own mares, and not an outside mare).

So if others decide to be rude or snippy about it, then that's their problem, I guess. My decision will not be easily swayed. I may decide at a later date to let others create them freely, but for now, I want them to be limited :nod:

Oh, and I did forget to mention that you're also free to mix any of the colors, markings, or builds that you like when you design him/her =D

Oh yes, I saw the spectrum horses on your other adoptable batch :nod: I like them a lot too.

To be honest, I'd have to agree with you. When the breed is a little limited, it makes them that much more special :)

It's a lot easier to keep track of the members of this breed too :D
